Genrobotics Signs MoU with Armscor for Defence, Space & Robotics

October 7, 2026•Pretoria, South Africa

Kerala-based robotics and deep-tech company Genrobotics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Africa’s Armaments Corporation of South Africa (Armscor) to explore collaboration across defence, space, satellite and advanced robotics technologies.

The agreement was signed in Pretoria by Adv. Solomzi P. Mbada, CEO of Armscor, and Vimal Govind M.K., CEO of Genrobotics, through Genrobotics Africa (Pty) Ltd, the company’s South African entity based in Pretoria.

The non-exclusive MoU establishes a framework for both organisations to identify and assess potential opportunities in defence robotics, space technologies, satellite systems and dual-use applications. The collaboration will explore opportunities across South Africa, the Southern African Development Community (SADC), wider African markets and other international markets.

For Genrobotics, the partnership strengthens its presence in the African technology ecosystem and supports its growing focus on defence and space robotics. The company is expanding its robotics capabilities into complex environments, including advanced robotic systems for space applications.

For Armscor, the collaboration provides an opportunity to explore emerging robotics and space technologies that could support South Africa’s defence capabilities while opening avenues for potential commercial and civilian applications.

The partnership marks a step towards deeper technology cooperation between India and South Africa, bringing together Genrobotics’ robotics and AI capabilities with Armscor’s role in South Africa’s defence technology ecosystem.

Specific projects, joint development activities and commercial arrangements will be explored through further discussions and separate agreements between the organisations.
